ChangemakerXchange Experience - Accra Ghana 2018

"I Went to Ghana for the ChangemakerXchange program put together by Ashoka and the Robert Bosch Stiftung Foundation.

 

Selected from across different West African countries including Ghana, the participants took turns selling their innovations at an event held at the Impact Hub, Osu.

The Impact Hub session preceded another one held at the Aqua Safari Resort in Ada.

 

Co-created by Ashoka and Robert Bosch Stiftung, the Changemakerxchange is a global collaboration platform for young social innovators to connect and co-create with peers around the world.

 

 

 

ChangemakerXchange covered the travelling costs (including hotel accommodation, inner city travel, food, entrance fees) of all participants for the Ghana event. Participants came from Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, The Gambia, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo.

 

Applications were accepted from participants aged between 18 and 35.

 

Personally CXC Accra was an amazing program held at the Aqua Safari Resort in Big Ada Volta, got to meet beautiful minds from all over west Africa, passions to make the world a better place, made friends and networks, had fun went swimming , horse riding, boat riding in the River, Adventures at the Crocodile Island and peace connection with nature, despite how official CXC may seem trust me there was lots of fun in learning and sharing stories, our challenges as young people, at times we get all emotional and cry, then we console each other.

 

ChangemakerXchange brings together some of the world’s top social innovators, who have dedicated their lives to solving a social problem and have the skills and mind-set to collaborate for collective impact. The sessions have no panels, no power-points, no guest speakers or site visits, rather an open and flexible participant-led agenda which leverages the collective intelligence of the group. There is a strong emphasis both on maximizing social impact and on personal wellbeing.

 

The platform seeks to maximize the social impact of young Changemakers, who take part in impact retreats and become part of a global community of social innovators that learn from each other and co-create projects together.

 

Few months upon returned our projects were funded by CXCAccra18 you need to see the amazing impactful projects young people from all over west Africa collaborated to implement,

 

I for one was project #VoicesForPeace which aims to creatively campaign for peace in Cameroon and assist IDPs and refugees in Nigeria, with a team of 4 Noble Arts Entertainment (Cameroon), Not So Different (Senegal), The Makoko Dream (Nigeria) and Life Pro (Nigeria) can’t wait to share our project for peace with you all once is ready.
